Minecraft vs League. The great debate - Paul M.

^^^Made w/ Textcraft.net^^^

Minecraft and League of Legends are two video games that are downloaded onto, ran through, and played on your PC. But where I live, the big question is ... "Which is better?" I personally don't think that it's fair to compair Minecraft, a first person game about endless possibilities and yard-long blocks, to League of Legends, a third person battle game about killing and conquering  your enemy team. So, I'll just give a little run through all the different things that the games have, and you, the reader can decide on your own which is better. (mostly because i'm too lazy to figure it out for myself)

I'm going to start with the game that I first started with, Minecraft.
Minecraft is a first person "sandbox" style game. It's unique to a lot of other games because it allows you to change almost every aspect of your world. In Call of Duty, if you have a building in front of you, your choices are to go around it, or stay where you are. In Minecraft, you have the ability to get a pick and mine straight through it. (you could also level it to the ground with TNT, which is a little more entertaining) I was talking to a friend of mine who plays Minecraft and was just getting into league, and he asked "if I get this bow" (the recursive bow, for those of you who know  what i'm talking about) "will my character shoot arrows instead of darts?" (he was playing teemo) When I replied "no" he was disappointed and said that this isn't anything like Minecraft.

League of Legends is a 3rd person battle game that has entertained people the world over. You play by picking a character, or Champion. each champ (short for champion) has it's own unique abilities and powers.
Players level up by winning games, and getting kills. When you reach a higher level, you're put in with players that are about your level to make sure that the matches are fair. Some champs can drop items that wil affect the game, but for the most part, most champs can't really affect or change the area around them. Personally, when I started playing League, it was a little annoying because of how different it was to Minecraft. But after a while, I got used to the controls, the champs, and the players, and I now have a great time playing this game. One thing that I found in League that isn't in minecraft is the in-game shop. This shop allows you to buy items that will increase your champs statuses, like "attack speed" or "health" (attack speed teemo is the most op thing ever introduced to the universe. end of story)

If anyone reads this, and/or plays one, both, or another game that you think competes in the PC gaming world (there's a lot) then leave a comment and i'll reply to you 'bout my opinion.

√-1 2³ Σ π

PI DAY! (march 14th [3-14])

For those of you who:
Bother to read this
     -because you have to
     -because you want to
And don't know what Pi is...

"Pi is represented by the number -3.14159265358979323846...  it goes on infinitely  and the generated numbers are completely random. Pi is used to find the circumference of a circle (circumference= perimeter) (perimeter =length of all the sides combined) Yesterday, we celebrated "Pi day" (it was march the 14/ 3-14)
In math class we brought in pie and juice, and had a "Pi competition" this is where we take turns trying to remember as many decimals after pi as we can. (i can get to 84, my friend can get to 180ish and my math teacher can get to 290ish)

This kid next to me (i'm writing this in class) said to just put a list of pi... so here it is!

Minecraft, Xbox vs PC

Minecraft. The biggest sand box you'll ever play in.

Starting May 9th 2012, Mojang let Minecraft out onto the Xbox. I just want to let out my opinions on the differences on the two.

Items

the PC version of Minecraft is definitely the most used version, and has the most possibilities when you play.
Some good talking points are the fact that there are tons of new blocks in PC vs Xbox.
PC has a total of 420 since the 1.4.8 update.
Xbox has way less items

Crafting:

Lots of people like the new "automatic crafting" on the xbox version. this allows you to create items with the touch of a button, as long as you have the materials.

The original version of crafting (brought to the game in the Beta version 1.2, January 13, 2011.)
This meant that the player had to manually put blocks in a 3x3 grid to create different items.

Controls

PC uses the "wasd" controls for moving (you can change this whenever you want in the pause menu)
When I rest my hand on my keyboard, it automatically goes to my "wasd" along with my pinky on the shift key and my thumb on the space bar.

Xbox uses the joy stick to control where your cursor is, (where you're facing) and the extra buttons for the place block and destroy block controls.

I honestly play Minecraft PC the most, because it's more complex (as complex as a world made entirely of blocks can get) Later on, if i have to, I will do a review on Tekkit (Minecraft on steroids) and the vanilla version of Minecraft.

xX---MIDTERMS---Xx

Midterms started yesterday. I will openly admit, they are HORRIBLE! stuck in a room for two hours doing work? not exactly my idea of fun, but i do have some ways to prepare. Wen I get on the bus in the morning (because getting a ride to school is too mainstream) All i do i sit in my seat and listen to music. this year, last year and for cmt's (Connecticut Mastery Test)  in 6th grade for elementary school, all i did was put away some money that i got over the summer, and buy an I-tunes gift card. The day before the test, i buy enough songs to last me the bus ride (averaging about 30-45 mins in elementary school and 45-50ish in middle school) and just relax and listen to them on the way. I plan to put a link in a tab to some songs that i commonly listen to. I did this this morning, along with yesterday, and I plan to do so on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

On happier news, I'm almost at 400 total page views! They've been slowly trickling in at this point but when I look at a chart that blogger makes for me, i'm expecting a jump in about a week (it's part of a pattern that I noticed earlier)

As a random note that has nothing to do with the last subject, or the one before it, i'm getting a youtube channel! I plan just to use it for little "tips and tricks" of diferent things so my friends will stop bothering me about "how do you do this" and "why wont this work?!?!?" (the last one really pisses me off) as an attempt to get some peace an quiet out of my free time instead of being bothered by people who i don't even like to talk to about stuff like "computer trouble shooting" (which i don't know that much about anyway) and downloading maps (minecraft) as "ZIP" files and using RAR files to fit into the save file in your .mineraft folder (I dont expect for people who read this to know anything about this)

Me: what is it?!? 😮😮😮

Me: "sigh"

Over break

Today is the last day of my winter vacation. Tommorow I head back to school, back to work, and back to heading into each classroom and thinking "when's lunch?" or "when do we get out of school again?" Along with this, comes the responsibilities of having to remember to practice my instrument, and not be late to practice, and do my homework, and bring a tardy slip/paper/thing when I'm late to class, inbetween all of my "being lazy and not doing most of the things that I said" (sigh) .On more happy news, I have made my new years resilution. This year, I plan to stand in a mall, wearing a shirt that says "Life" and hand out lemons. That is my goal, and it is unwavering.
(Deal with it, I dare you)
